We are looking for a Senior Purchase to Pay Assistant to work in the Purchase-2-Pay Team.  Reporting to the Purchase to Pay Supervisor you will help deliver best procurement practice, maximizing benefits to the University.

Procurement at Lancaster has undergone significant transformation in recent years. The team continues to expand its reach and is forward-thinking in its approach to managing the full range of Purchase to Pay and Source to Contract activity for the University’s non-pay expenditure of around £100m per year. The University has declared a Climate Emergency and set an ambitious target to be Carbon Net Zero by 2035. The Procurement Team play a key role in the delivery of this target.

The role of the procurement team is to manage the university's expenditure with external suppliers, including operational procurement, order processing and invoice payment.

About You

You have experience of working in in a large, multi-site, multi-currency, organisation operating an end-to-end Purchase to Pay process.

You have a detailed understanding of an effective Purchase to Pay process and the ability to articulate this to others.

You possess strong communication skills; excellent written and numerical skills.

You have good interpersonal skills, demonstrated by an ability to develop and progress working relationships with staff across the University, colleagues and key external bodies.

Ability to build a customer-led service-orientated professional team.

Experience of using Agresso is desirable.

The role will be stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones working across a wide range of areas in the University. You will play a key role in  ensuring all payment and requisitioning systems reflect procurement best practice and are as efficient as possible in making payment.

You will also work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure compliance with the University’s Procurement Procedures.
