This is an exciting and fast paced opportunity to join the Research Services office, in our friendly and supportive Costing Team. The team provides expert advice, guidance and administrative support to Lancaster University’s research community whilst applying for research grants.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team to take on a varied and demanding role. The position provides administrative support for academics to support them with their costs, whilst ensuring compliance with terms and conditions during the application process for research funding.  You will work across a wide spectrum of external funders as well as academic and administrative staff across the university. 

You should have experience of providing excellent customer-service focused administrative support, recent financial administration experience and have confidence using computer packages to complete tasks quickly and accurately within strict deadlines.  

You should also have excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing high standards of customer service. You should be self-motivated and keen to develop new skills which will be supported by peers and managers. 

The team works flexibly and is using a flexible and hybrid approach to working on campus and at home, although we would expect you to be on campus more during the initial training period.
