An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) in a business-facing role. As Company Projects Manager you will support the student projects function in LUMS Careers by sourcing, and scoping out, suitable company-based research projects for LUMS students to consult on at undergraduate and postgraduate level (including our suite of MBA programmes). This element of our work is supported by two Company Project Managers and a Business Advisor.

Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) is a quadruple-accredited, world-ranked management school, ranked 10th in the 2025 Complete University Guide. At the heart of the student experience is our innovative LUMS Careers team, which makes a significant impact on the career development and employability of our students.

You will seek out, and liaise with, business contacts, helping diagnose business issues and translating them into consultancy projects for students to tackle as part of a module. You will work closely with academic colleagues as part of this process.

Given the critical importance of projects to our students, an ability to network with, and promote these opportunities to, senior leaders in businesses, including those in the Times Top 100, would be essential.

A confident and motivated self-starter with experience of sales/business development and performing to targets, you will possess excellent communication and networking skills that they can apply to engaging with businesses across sectors for educational purposes.

This role will be a blended role with a mix of working on campus and working remotely through MS teams. This role will require occasional out of hours working/travel within the UK which would be planned, and agreed, in advance.

We are located in a beautiful part of North West England with great facilities and a warm and welcoming community.  We offer an occupational pension scheme, a generous annual leave allowance, excellent training and development opportunities, flexible benefits, an employee assistance programme, and flexible working options.

If you share our commitment to excellent service and enjoy working in a fast-paced and friendly environment, we would love to hear from you.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups and those whose experience is outside of Higher Education.

This is a full-time, indefinite role.

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact Noeleen Hammond Jones, Deputy Head of LUMS Careers (Work Related Learning), n.hammondjones@lancaster.ac.uk for an informal conversation about the role.
