About Us

The university places great emphasis on a strong student experience: students broaden their horizons, learn new subjects, find new perspectives and discover new experiences as part of a global community.

We attract outstanding students from many different backgrounds and deliver a high-quality education in the UK and overseas, equipping our graduates to succeed in their chosen careers.

Our strategic global partnerships offer Lancaster degrees in China, Germany, Ghana, Malaysia and Indonesia. The vision is to offer a full university experience across teaching, research and engagement, enhancing our reputation as a transnational University to operate as interconnected campuses - a global HE ecosystem enabling a distinctive offer and brand.

The Role

The Global Experiences Manager role will initially focus on income generation programmes and work with colleagues in External Relations to:

Oversee the growth and business development of our established summer schools, developing our portfolio to match market demand and attract students globally

Develop the incoming study abroad programme to both increase fee payers and ensure a balance for exchange

Support wider operations of Global Experiences as activity levels and student numbers continue to grow

You will be highly user focused and able to demonstrate a track record of delivery. Bringing experience of project management and business improvement you will develop our commercial opportunities as we look to grow student engagement across all our programmes.

The Team

The Global Experiences team are responsible for student mobility and internationalisation, including:

    Study Abroad

    Summer schools

    Short programmes overseas

    Internationalisation and digital projects

    Mobility funding

It is a very busy team with a wide range of activity across the year. We have experienced a regularly changing landscape in recent years with Brexit, Turing funding and Covid, which drives us to be innovative and responsive to the many changes that have impacted student mobility.

What we are looking for

We are keen to find an enthusiastic and proactive role model; someone who has a positive ‘can do’ attitude and can bring people alongside them in a busy and complex environment. You will have experience of delivering significant programmes of activity working in collaboration with others.

You will also be highly organised, have excellent communications skills and enjoy working with multiple stakeholders.
