An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Governance Officer. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with current knowledge and understanding of relevant Clinical Research legislation, experience of working in a clinical research or healthcare environment and an understanding of the requirements of trials that do not involve an investigational medicinal product (non-CTIMP) clinical studies, during their life-cycle from set-up to close out.

One of the University’s strategic aims is to continue to develop its clinical research portfolio in new areas and thus the role-holder will be required to continue to shape the role in recognition of this.   Based in Research & Enterprise Services, and working closely with (clinical) academics within the Faculty of Health and Medicine as well as across the University, the role-holder will be expected to continue to co-lead the establishment of a proactive service across the University to support the University’s ambitions to develop clinical research capability.

You will be highly motivated, proactive, have excellent interpersonal and professional skills with the ability to work autonomously and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Research Services

The Research Services is part of the University’s Research and Enterprise Services Division and plays a key role in helping the University achieve our strategic goals by providing expert advice, guidance and administrative support to the University’s research community in the development of bids for externally funded research. The Research Services teams provide a range of research development and support activities including advice on funders’ terms and conditions, proposal preparation, costing and pricing, impact, ethics, contracts and post-award grant administration.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis to cover Maternity leave with an initial end date of 31/08/2025 and is part time at 22 hours a week, which can be worked flexibly.
