We are seeking a Research Associate (Grade 6) to work on a project on the cyber security of medical devices. This position is at 0.3 FTE (11 hours per week) for 6-months.
Alongside the Research Associate position the postholder will be expected to enrol on a 1-year Masters by Research degree in Computer Science within the School of Computing and Communications.
You will have a good undergraduate degree (typically first or upper second class) in computer science or related discipline area. A condition of the post is registration on the 1-year MSc by Research degree in Computer Science within the School of Computing and Communications where you will undertake a complementary research project to the topic of this position.
The project will investigate cyber security vulnerabilities in specific digital medical devices used within the health service. You will work closely with and be supervised by colleagues from computer science, cyber security and medical sciences.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed via MS Teams. Interviews will be arranged for September. Start date will be September/October 2025 to coincide with registration on the MSc by Research in Computer Science.
