We’re looking for a new Technician to join our friendly team in the newly-formed Centre for Sustainable Soils at Lancaster Environment Centre to work on a prestigious Royal Society Faraday Discovery Fellowship, led by Prof Katie Field at Sheffield, investigating the diversity and functioning of root-associated fungal networks in grassland. 

You will be part of work-package led by Prof David Johnson at Lancaster that seeks to resolve how ‘hidden’ fungal diversity mediates key functions and resilience to perturbations such as drought and herbivory. Key elements of your job will be to: support a Senior Research Associate to deliver research objectives; help establish and maintain experiments in lab, greenhouse and field; assist with sampling soils and vegetation, including working with collaborators at Sheffield University and the Natural History Museum, London; Analysis of soils and plants for a range of properties.
