The Partnerships and Business Engagement team is looking for an exceptional Business Programme Manager with a passion for working with academics, businesses and the knowledge exchange community to deliver a new European funded project. We are seeking to recruit a team to deliver a unique business support programme for small to medium enterprise businesses across a range of industrial sectors. The Programme Manager will line manage the team, but with shared delivery responsibilities. The primary focus of the project team is to support companies in a structured programme of activity with a focus on Materials Science. Domain knowledge of Chemistry and chemical using industries is desirable but not essential.

You will demonstrate a strong capability and expertise in working with companies, supporting them in their growth and development. As the delivery lead for the project, you will be able to clearly demonstrate your ability to plan and deliver an SME engagement programme with companies, and be able to write a wide range of reports and other material to support the community and individual companies. Working in a highly innovative team, you will be able to showcase innovative approaches to working with companies and helping them to grow, with clear evidence of developing new process and systems to engage the SME community. You will also be able to demonstrate an ability to work on large government funded projects with high accuracy and attention to detail. 

Next Generation Chemistry Hub (NextGenChem) is a £4.9m ERDF programme awarded by MHCLG and Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership. NextGenChem is critical to supporting our wider strategy for partnerships and business engagement.

This is a full time fixed term post until 31st March 2023 and is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
