Senior Research Associate in Trustworthy Autonomous Systems

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to join our team as part of the £3M EPSRC TAS Security node (TAS-S) at Lancaster University. This position is open to both UK-based and international applicants. 

We seek candidates with background and interest in researching trustworthy autonomous systems. Our research topics of interest include the security, risk assessment, threat modelling, verification & validation. As AI/ML techniques are increasingly used for decision making in autonomous systems, we are interested in researching adversarial ML as well as AI/ML verification  

This position offers an excellent opportunity to explore blue sky and applied research, as well as collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group of investigators in accomplishing cutting-edge research in systems security. The role will encompass: 

  • Pursuit of research within the areas of systems, security, and ML.
  • Research engagement with the project’s internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participation in project workshops, seminars, dissemination and outreach events. 
  • Support on reports, presentations, and research proposals. 
  • Supervision of the PhD positions provided to support the candidate’s research. 

This is a full-time position expected to start on/after July 1, 2021. The contract will initially be for a 24-month period and extendible through the project duration of April 2024.
