We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to join our team as part of the £3M EPSRC TAS Security node (TAS-S) at Lancaster University. This position is open to both UK-based and international applicants.

We seek candidates with background and interest in researching trustworthy autonomous systems. Our research topics of interest include the security, risk assessment, threat modelling, verification & validation. As AI/ML techniques are increasingly used for decision making in autonomous systems, we are interested in researching adversarial ML as well as AI/ML verification

This position offers an excellent opportunity to explore blue sky and applied research, as well as collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group of investigators in accomplishing cutting-edge research in systems security. The role will encompass:

Pursuit of research within the areas of systems, security, and ML.
Research engagement with the project’s internal and external stakeholders.
Participation in project workshops, seminars, dissemination and outreach events.
Support on reports, presentations, and research proposals.
Supervision of the PhD positions provided to support the candidate’s research.

This is a full-time position expected to start on/after July 1, 2021. The contract will initially be for a 24-month period and extendible through the project duration of April 2024.
