We wish to appoint one individual to a Senior Lecturer position (equivalent to Associate Professor) in the Operations Management Group within the Department of Management Science at Lancaster University Management School.

The Operations Management group focuses broadly on supply chain management (SCM) issues including: sustainable SCM; supply chain resilience; servitisation; service procurement and contracting; and humanitarian logistics.  We are looking for an individual who will bring a strong record of leadership in research, publications, external industrial/policy engagement and external funding. You will have interests in Operations Management (OM) that complement or overlap those of the current group. The Management Science Department employs about 45 established academic staff, in addition to a high number of research students and a dedicated support team. Members of the Department work on a wide range of research topics and methodological approaches.  These include interpretive, positivist and critical theoretical approaches, across supply chain management, operations management, information systems and operations research.

The OM group is involved in various Masters and undergraduate programmes related to Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Operations Management more broadly, for students on a variety of degree programmes at Bachelors and Masters’ levels, including the MBA, the MSc in Management and the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.  The OM group collaborates with researchers in other departments/faculties at Lancaster University, including through the Pentland Centre for Sustainability and the Centre for Productivity and Efficiency.  The Department more broadly is involved in other research-based programmes including an EPSRC-funded Doctoral Training Centre in operations research (STOR-i).
