We wish to appoint four Lecturers (equivalent to Assistant professor) within the Department of Management Science at Lancaster University Management School. 

You will have interests in Management Science that complement or overlap with current members of the forecasting and/or operational research groups. We particularly encourage candidates with expertise in: Stochastic modelling/simulation; Predictive Analytics and Forecasting (with a preference for expertise in machine learning or forecasting support systems); and/or health system applications of Operational Research. We expect and encourage you to conduct relevant and rigorous academic research and engage with external organisations. You will have a PhD (or be close to completing one) and be able to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate / MBA levels, in areas that complement or overlap with the current interests and requirements of the Management Science department.  

The Management Science Department employs about 45 established academic staff, in addition to a high number of research students and a dedicated support team. Members of the Department work on a wide range of research topics and methodological approaches. These include positivist, interpretive and critical theoretical approaches, across operational research, forecasting, information systems, supply chain management and operations management. The department is involved in research-based programmes including an EPSRC-funded Doctoral Training Centre in operations research (STOR-i). 

The Forecasting and Operational research groups are involved in various masters and undergraduate programmes related to business analytics and broader business management programmes at UG, PG and post-experience levels. The groups collaborate with researchers in other departments/faculties at Lancaster University, including through a number of research centres such as the: Centre for Marketing Analytics & Forecasting; Centre for Health Futures; the Centre for Transport & Logistics.  

Interviews will be held over two days: Wednesday 14th July 2021 for presentations and Friday 16th July 2021 for the interview panel.
