The Department of Management Science at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) wish to appoint two International Lecturers (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. You will have a PhD (or be close to completing one) and be able to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate / MBA levels, in areas that complement or overlap with the current interests and requirements of the Management Science department. The department welcomes applicants with expertise in all areas of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, including: global sourcing, sustainable supply chain management, logistics management & modelling, forecasting and inventory control.

This post arises partly as a result of international teaching activities, which you will need to help deliver. Specifically, Lancaster University has established an exciting new campus in Leipzig, Germany.  The post involves direct collaboration with our colleagues in Leipzig and requires the applicant to travel to Leipzig for limited periods to block teach a minimum of one or two modules per year, as well as to supervise masters’ dissertations for students based in Leipzig. Located in one of Germany’s most vibrant, liveable, and attractive cities, the Leipzig campus offers the same academic quality and fully rounded student experience as in the UK, with a strong strategic vision of excellence in teaching, research, and engagement.  As post holders will be based in the UK campus, the post also involves some teaching, research, engagement and administrative responsibilities at Lancaster University in the UK. 

The Management Science department at Lancaster is actively involved in a number of research areas related to Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The group collaborates with researchers in other departments/faculties at Lancaster University, including through a number of research centres such as the: Centre for Transport & Logistics; Pentland Centre for Sustainability; Centre for Productivity & Efficiency and the Centre for Marketing Analytics & Forecasting.  You will be an active member of this vibrant research community.

Interviews will be held over two days: Wednesday 14th July 2021 for candidate presentations and Thursday 15th July 2021 for the interview panel.
