Lancaster University delivers fully online learning through LU Online, providing flexible, high‑quality postgraduate and professional programmes to learners worldwide. Information Systems Services (ISS) are looking for a creative and collaborative Learning Designer to join our Digital Learning team and help shape engaging, accessible and well‑structured online modules. This is a fixed term role for 2 years. Due to the work timeline, the successful candidate will need to start in June 2026.  

In this role, you will work closely with academics to design fully online learning journeys, develop interactive and multimedia content, and build clear, consistent and accessible module spaces in Moodle. You will apply effective online pedagogy, ensure inclusive and accessible design of the module and content, and provide expert guidance on digital tools and teaching approaches. You will also collaborate with colleagues across teams to support smooth development and delivery.

We’re seeking someone with experience of online learning design in Higher Education, strong pedagogical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and confidence working with a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) in a design capacity. If you are passionate about high‑quality online learning, and enjoy working in partnership with academics, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The position is primarily based at Lancaster University's Bailrigg campus, with flexible hybrid working options available to promote a healthy work-life balance. A minimum of two days per week in the office is expected.
