Research Technician in CNC fabrication

We wish to appoint a motivated technician, with good CNC milling and lathe experience, to join a world leading research group in fabrication of high precision metal structures. 

You will contribute to the fabrication of parts by manual and CNC milling and CNC lathe. Training will be given where needed.

You will be offered further training and support in precision cutting, part inspection, polishing and other processes  by our specialists, to develop new high qualifying skills.

You will work in an exciting international environment with substantial development opportunities and collaborate with top institutions and companies worldwide.

The research aims to produce traveling wave tubes, that are electronic devices made of metal parts fabricated by CNC milling and lathe and assembled by different high precision joining techniques, such as diffusion bonding, laser welding, brazing (for more info http://wp.lancs.ac.uk/sub-thz-electronics).

The research is led by Professor Claudio Paoloni.

The School of Engineering is recognised for international excellence and world-leading research. The School is ranked highly in national league tables. The School has strong links with industry nationwide and works with a portfolio of hundreds of SMEs in the north-west of England alone, supported by the in-house Lancaster Product Development Unit (LPDU).
