You will be part of our Facilities Division - Estates Operations department. Facilities is the largest division within the University. Facilities have won numerous sector and professional association awards – the most recent being the Gold Standard Award at the Association of University Directors of Estates (AUDE) Awards 2024. This recognised how our exceptional teamwork made real positive change for our students, staff, and the campus environment. This role will be a member of our Facilities Maintenance team which currently has X 41 members.

What you’ll be doing
In support of the Maintenance Manager, and other trade Supervisor and Chargehand, you will:
To take a lead role on the operational implementation of mechanical skilled and semi-skilled work across campus.
Manage the issuing prioritised mechanical works to your team and appointed contractors via our helpdesk / work management system.
Review and manage service performance against set service level requirements.
Offer practical technical support to the wider team in support of refurbishment projects, planned events and operational needs.
Ensure the team remains trained, well briefed, and competent to work safely and effectively whilst meeting health and safety best practice standards
About you
To complement our team and approach to delivering our services to campus, you will need:
A customer service focus and supportive attitude.
Clear and practical communication skills.
To be team-orientated and have a flexible approach to work.
To be proactive, performance focused drive, looking for continued improvements across the areas you lead.
Sound knowledge and experience on mechanical maintenance work, across large, complex, and varied buildings.
Good general education and IT skills.
