Are you keen to advance equality, diversity and inclusion?  Do you have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and a collaborative approach to getting things done? Would you like to assist with the development of University-wide equality, diversity and inclusion frameworks, policy and guidance to support inclusion at Lancaster University? 

Joining a small Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Team, based in the People and Organisational Effectiveness Division, you will project manage specific projects to strengthen and integrate equality, diversity and inclusion and create positive change. The projects you will work on are very varied and be across all of the protected characteristics, involving you working closely with your EDI teammates and colleagues across the University, as well as taking the initiative to identify opportunities to develop the EDI agenda.  

As an EDI Advisor, you will provide advice, support and guidance to colleagues, sharing good practice and seeking opportunities to develop and implement initiatives to address issues of under-representation and to create an inclusive environment for staff, students and visitors to Lancaster University.  You will take an evidence-based approach to inform the development and implementation of initiatives and interventions to address any challenges.  You will promote EDI in a variety of ways, from networks to webpages, events to training, and will work with a diverse mix of colleagues across the University, EDI networks, working groups and key stakeholders from faculties, academic departments and professional services.

We are keen to hear from people who have transferable skills, even if they haven’t yet worked in a dedicated EDI role but have a strong commitment to advancing EDI, excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships and with a willingness to learn.
