The Sugarhouse- one of the largest nightlife venues in Lancaster and the surrounding area is seeking a new, passionate and innovative Venue Manager to drive business and build on our fantastic reputation and presence in student life in Lancaster. This role is a fantastic opportunity for you to take the next big step if your management career in the late night licensed business, and join a team dedicated to success.

The Sugarhouse is owned and run by Lancaster University Students’ Union, and we aim to put students at the heart of everything we do.  Operating mainly in University term time, Sugarhouse is aiming this year to deliver a weekly (four night) programme of varied entertainments to our 15000+ membership- providing the biggest student focussed events across our 1348 capacity, two room venue. In addition our strategy this year includes opening up opportunities to local community customers, private functions and live music.

You will be a proven, successful licensed trade professional, seeking a new challenge and able to demonstrate initiative and a positive attitude. You’ll be prepared to enthusiastically get hands on with operational tasks, whilst leading a team of staff to deliver safe, entertaining nights out that encourage our customers to return time after time.

In exchange we expect commitment to a flexible agreed schedule including late nights weekends, and day shifts, and a willingness to contribute to the wider Students’ Union activities when required.
