The post holder will support the effective delivery and implementation of the Race Equality Charter (REC), working closely with the Race Equality Charter Programme Manager and EDI Data Analyst to manage all the relevant activities, and documentation for applications towards Bronze status and developing a robust self-assessment and action plan to underpin race equality at Lancaster. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate, proactive and able to bring understanding, knowledge and expertise to advance race equality. You will be the project officer and advisor for all Race Equality Charter activity across the Institution, working with the REC ISAT and other key committees and groups to ensure a connected and co-ordinated REC self- assessment and supporting REC activities and accreditation. 

You will work with colleagues across the University and build relationships with key stakeholders to deliver initiatives and projects to promote and improve equality, diversity and inclusion across all areas of the University's business. 

If you are someone with in-depth understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues, have experience of co-ordinating/managing projects and have the ability to engage with diverse communities, then we want to hear from you. You will have knowledge and experience of race equality issues and possess effective interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (both oral and written) coupled with an ability to manage a project effectively to achieve the submission deadline. Experience of working successfully with Charter-marks or similar frameworks would be desirable.  

The start date will be 3rd January 2023
