The New Phytologist Trust has recently launched a new, Open Access Journal, Plants, People, Planet. We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team as Managing Editor. You will have responsibility for the peer-review processes for New Phytologist Trust journals (New Phytologist, and Plants, People, Planet) and will work with the Executive Editor and Central Office team to ensure that the journals maintain excellent quality standards across all aspects of the publishing process. You will advise the Editors on journal performance and academic direction/opportunities and contribute to the strategic development of the Trust’s publishing programme. 

You will have a PhD in plant science or a related discipline, plus relevant scientific research experience OR you will have extensive experience of scientific publishing together with a relevant BSc or MSc. You will also have extensive team leadership and line management skills, be an excellent communicator, and be highly motivated. This offers an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant journal team at an exciting and innovative time for the publishing industry. 

The post is to be based at Lancaster University and is available immediately.
