The post holder for this exciting new role will be responsible for the development and management of a series of high quality initiatives and activities that attract widening participation (WP) students to Lancaster and support the success and progression of WP students already studying at the University. 

Working specifically with the faculties of Science and Technology and Health and Medicine, the successful candidate will manage a new Outreach and Student Success team. They will have responsibility for liaison with, and the provision of support for activity already taking place within the University within departments such as Student Based Services, Lancaster University Students’ Union and work undertaken by other teams within the same department. 

An experienced practitioner with knowledge of the student lifecycle in higher education as well as previous experience of formulating and delivering outreach, student success or progression campaigns as well as managing people, you must be willing to work flexible hours. The role will require occasional weekend, early morning or late night working as well as occasional periods away from home. 

You should be able to work on your own initiative, have excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate confidently, fluently and knowledgeably with a range of stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
