The Accounting and Finance department is one of the largest departments within Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) a world-ranked international business school that has consistently ranked among the UK’s top ten universities for nearly two decades. LUMS is one of few business schools whose programs are accredited by all three international business school accreditation bodies: AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB. In 2012 LUMS won the inaugural Business School of the Year award in the Times Higher Education; and Lancaster University received The Times/Sunday Times University of the Year award for 2018. In 2017 the Financial Times Global Masters in Finance ranking placed the department’s MSc in Finance 27th in the world and 6th in the UK, while the 2018 The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide ranked the Department’s undergraduate programmes 3th in the UK (with Lancaster University receiving the University of the Year 2018 award).
Applications are invited from suitably experienced teachers and/or qualified accounting professionals for a permanent Teaching Fellow/Senior Teaching Fellow role in Accounting. The position is full-time but part-time requests will be considered.
The primary duties will comprise teaching on introductory, intermediate and advanced accounting modules (including P2 financial reporting) at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also undertake one senior leadership role such a Deputy Head of Department or Part 1 (first year) Programme Director.
You should have previous university or professional teaching experience and be able to demonstrate an ability to teach effectively across a variety of accounting-related modules and programmes. Experience of assessing professional or university-level modules is essential, as is evidence of high quality teaching outcomes in the form of strong student evaluation scores and appropriate assessment outcomes.
