The Physics Department at Lancaster University and the Cockcroft Institute is seeking to appoint a lecturer (equivalent to assistant professor) in ultrafast physics and ultrafast phenomena.

Applications are particularly welcome from candidates with a track record of excellence in one or more of ultrafast optics; ultrafast atomic or condensed matter physics; non-linear terahertz generation and detection; laser-driven particle acceleration; or applications of lasers in advanced particle accelerators.  Applications from candidates with a strong research record in other areas of ultrafast physics and ultrafast phenomena are also welcome.

You will join a newly established group in the Department of Physics. You will have access to ultrafast laser facilities within the department, and to particle accelerator and laser facilities of the Cockcroft Institute for Accelerator Science at STFC Daresbury National Laboratory.

You will also undertake undergraduate & postgraduate teaching duties, including supervision of PhD students, in the Lancaster Physics Department and at the Cockcroft Institute. You will have a PhD in Physics or Electrical engineering, or a related discipline, and an outstanding research and publications record.
