This is an exciting opportunity to join Lancaster University’s dynamic Health Engagement and Innovation Team (HEIT) as Partnership Development Manager. Based in the Faculty of Health and Medicine, the HEIT works across the University to provide leadership and a focal point for external engagement with the private and public Health Sector. This post within the HEIT focuses on engagement with the broader public and Third sectors, which is a major priority as the University prepares for the opening of its ground breaking Health Innovation Campus (HIC) in Autumn 2019. Phase 1 of the HIC will have a strong focus on population health, bringing together academic, private, public and Third sectors to drive innovative health technologies, systems and practices to enable people to remain well, to enable early detection and treatment of illness, and to enable individuals’ health to be managed in their home, work or other community settings.

You will develop and manage emerging partnerships between the HIC and major local population health infrastructure programmes and will identify and support opportunities for cross-sectoral collaboration and partnerships with local authorities, public health, social care and the Third Sector. You will play a key role in increasing health-related research and HEIF eligible income and in facilitating local economic development through the University’s work with the external health sector. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with relevant experience of working with the broader public or Third Sector and with expert knowledge of the health and the Higher Education landscape. As part of this role, you will work closely with the Lancaster Health Hub, a strategic partnership between the University and the NHS, which drives cross-sectoral collaboration for enhancing evidence-based, high quality healthcare through research and innovation and supports local economic growth.
