We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Deputy Disability and Inclusion Manager to join the Disability Service at Lancaster University. The Deputy Disability and Inclusion Manager will support the management and co-ordination of the Disability Service and the development of inclusive practice at Lancaster University. The successful candidate will lead on the promotion and enhancement of inclusive practice across the university and feed into strategic developments in this area. Inclusive practice aims to create a learning experience that respects diversity, enables participation, removes barriers and anticipates a variety of needs and preferences.
Alongside appropriate knowledge and expertise, you will be aware of government regulations, policies and technologies relevant to HE disability support and inclusive teaching and learning. You will need strong organisational skills and be an excellent communicator with the ability to manage and motivate others. You will need the skills to evaluate and report on existing processes and practices and to devise ways to measure and evaluate future progress. You will be pro-active and self-motivated, collaborating with a variety of relevant groups and staff across the institution to promote inclusive practice, enhance existing provision, develop networks and provide specialist advice, guidance and training in a variety of formats.
This is a full-time post offered on a fixed term basis for a period of 2 years.
