Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Muhammad Munir in the Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences, Lancaster University, UK. The post is funded by the British Council and will investigate the mechanisms of virus mediated immune evasion in chicken. This position is available for 1 year in the first instance, starting in March 2019. Further Munir’s lab details:  

We are seeking a highly motivated virologist able to implement our plan of work and explore new avenues as they arise. Experience of virology is essential, while a background in immunology, proteomics and/or a home office personal licence is not a requirement but would be an advantage. You will employ state of the art omics techniques, multicolour flow cytometry, genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 to explore the interactions of viral proteins with the chicken immune system during infection and inflammation. 

This appointment is dependent upon you having been awarded a PhD. An appointment may be considered if you are shortly expected to be awarded a PhD.
