ISS - Corporate Information Systems
Salary:   £42,036 to £48,676
Closing Date:   Wednesday 20 February 2019
Interview Date:   Thursday 28 February 2019
Reference:  A2552

Are you an innovative and enthusiastic senior developer looking to join a likeminded team committed to the continuous delivery of high value features to develop LUSI (Lancaster University Student Information), the sector leading in-house Student Records system used by Lancaster University.

LUSI is undergoing significant redevelopment to a modern, responsive, dynamic web application and API underpinned by existing SQL Server databases. It interfaces with many other systems and supports the key University business processes.

We work in a purpose-built computer centre and have a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement and staff development. You will focus on further development of LUSI as well as a variety of other web-based and desktop systems, contributing to our exciting “Digital Lancaster” plans to maximise the opportunity for the exploitation of digital technologies. You will join a positive working environment, working closely with business analysts to lead an established scrum team following proven software methodologies.  You will mentor junior team members to enable them to develop their skills.

You must have an understanding of contemporary web and database technologies, and experience of application development in a mainstream programming language.  You must display a willingness to learn.  Experience of delivering applications and building interfaces between disparate applications is essential, as is experience of agile software development methods (e.g. Scrum).

You must have enthusiasm and a demonstrated capability for problem solving, developing new competencies, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and work well in, and be able to lead a team.

This is a full time, indefinite role.

If you would like further information and an opportunity to discuss the role, please contact Liz Shillito, Corporate Information Systems on +44 (0)1524 510132.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
