This role will have the opportunity to lead, develop and deliver the University’s research and enterprise agenda and will provide strategic and inspirational direction, with a particular focus on leading the University’s 2021 REF submission.

The ability to develop and foster strong relationships and networks internally, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally is essential, with an expectation that the role will leverage these networks to the benefit of Lancaster.It is essential that the candidate exhibit evidence of, or the ability to, lead major research initiatives across the disciplines that comprise a comprehensive broad-based university, along with a strong understanding of what is required to direct the challenges of a research strategy in a world top 100 university.

This post is full-time, with 0.2FTE to be allocated to other significant academic work e.g. research.  A four year term will ideally commence on 1st August 2019 with the possibility for renewal for a further term and would overlay a substantive appointment in an academic department.

The closing date is 10th March 2019, with first round of informal, preliminary interviews to be held on 22nd March 2019 with the final interviews on the 12th April 2019.
