Senior Research Associate in Computer Science: Intelligent Agents, Distributed Systems, Software Engineering

We seek a candidate to undertake exciting research into languages, tool, and methodologies for engineering distributed systems of intelligent agents.  The position is part of the Turtles project, a joint effort between Lancaster University and Imperial College London.

The project offers an opportunity to do theory, systems, and software engineering research.  The project is broad, with connections to technologies such as IoT and distributed ledgers, and philosophical themes such as accountability and ethics in AI. 

You will be expected to write and submit high-quality research papers, build software, disseminate research results by giving talks, tutorials, and demos at conferences and other institutions, assist with preparing grant proposals, and undertake other research activities as needed. A PhD in computer science is required to be eligible for this position. The ideal applicant will have a track record of high-quality publications in areas of relevance to the project and the willingness to undertake ambitious and challenging research.For more details, please see the detailed Person Specification for this position.
