We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic post-doctoral researcher with experience in marine biology to join the coral reefs team at Lancaster as part of the project Confronting Feedbacks in Degraded Coral Reef Ecosystems

The department holds an Athena SWAN Bronze Award, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in Higher Education and research.The coral reefs research group includes a number of academic and research staff, as well as postgraduate students working towards an improved understanding of coral reef functioning, responses to disturbance, and the benefits derived by people. 

Preferred candidates for this post will have a background in marine biology, knowledge of reef fish ecology, underwater survey techniques, and relevant experience of data handling and analysis. A proactive and enthusiastic approach and good communication and interpersonal skills are essential for the collaborative nature of the research. Excellent attention to detail and organisation are required to meet the goals of the roll. Roles will include preparation of an impact case study for REF 2021, data analysis of benthic and fish data, website management, and potentially overseas field assistance. 

This is a part-time (16 hours per week) fixed term appointment for 12 months
