This 34 month, full-time appointment within the Department of Organisation, Work and Technology, Department of Sociology, and the Institute for Social Futures—supports an international, multi-institutional project, Community-led Open Publishing Infrastructures for Monographs (COPIM), funded by Research England and Arcadia and led by the Centre for Postdigital Cultures, Coventry University, collaborating with world-class universities. The project addresses the key technological, structural, and organisational hurdles—around funding, production, dissemination, discovery, reuse, and archiving—that are standing in the way of the wider adoption and impact of open-access (OA) books (go here for more information regarding this project’s scope:

You will support the project’s team leaders in the following two areas: (1) Developing and Piloting a Revenue Management Platform for OA Books; (2) Researching and Piloting Alternative Business Models for OA Books. 

You should have a graduate degree (Master’s degree or higher), preferably within the Humanities, Social Sciences, or Library Science, with practical experience and/or research expertise in scholarly communications, digital publishing, media and technology studies, library and information sciences, and/or OA publishing. 

Although the role will be hosted by Lancaster University, you will have the opportunity to work remotely from other locations.
