You will work within the well-established and multi award winning university centre, the Centre for Global Eco-innovation (CGE). CGE supports collaborative research and development to develop low carbon innovations which address global challenges, such as renewable energy, waste and food security.  CGE works with North West small and medium sized enterprises and has a number of projects running across the North West in partnership with the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and the Universities of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores, Chester, Cumbria and Central Lancashire. 

This post is ideal for motivated individuals seeking a career in business development and higher education research impact and implementation. The post holder will be based within the Enterprise and Business Partnerships Team in the Lancaster Environment Centre, working in the Centre for Global Eco-Innovation. This role is integral to the success of the project, developing and managing relationships with external partners such as companies, organisations, charities, community groups, LEPs, councils and other HEIs.

The main duties of the post will include:

  • Working to project targets, initiate and manage business relationships and encourage engagement with CGE

  • Developing business-led collaborative research projects between Lancaster University and regional SMEs

  • Attend appropriate stakeholder and networking events to develop a suite of project contacts

You will have solid experience of working with businesses across sectors, of developing a network of contacts and working to targets and deadlines. You will have an excellent understanding of commercial needs, environmental challenges and areas of innovation. Experience of academia/industry collaborative research would be an advantage.

In the first instance, this post is fixed term until 31st December 2020. Subject to confirmation of further funding, this post may remain live until September 2023.
