An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Finance Partner/Faculty Finance Partner role at Lancaster University. This is an exceptional opportunity to work for Lancaster University, ranked in the UK Top 10 and one of the top universities in the world. The University is based just outside the beautiful city of Lancaster ideally located near to the Lake District.

You will be a fully qualified accountant and will be responsible for supporting allocated budget areas.

We are ideally looking for a Strategic Finance Partner, with wide experience and achievement within financial roles, able to work strategically with a range of stakeholders, understanding the specific needs and challenges of your client area. However, we are also open to appointing someone as Faculty Finance Partner with the potential and ability to develop, with support, into the more senior role. 

As Strategic Finance Partner, we would be looking for someone:

  • With experience of operating effectively at a leadership level and able to demonstrate added value to the role, in support of business objectives

  • With the ability to provide high-level support to senior colleagues around all aspects of strategic planning, financial control and financial management operations

  • Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen

  • With clear, practical experience of financial analysis, trend analysis, effective reporting and risk assessment

As Faculty Finance Partner, we would want to see:

  • Good experience of working at a management level

  • Ability to provide professional financial planning and budget support to key stakeholders

  • Clear potential to develop into the Strategic Finance Partner role

There has recently been a re-alignment of roles in the Division to create further strength and resilience in the Financial Planning team. In either post, the role-holder will work closely with, in particular, the Deputy Director of Finance (Financial Planning and Analysis), the Financial Planning Operational Manager, other Finance Partners and will be supported by other Financial Planning team members.  Your role will contribute to the long-term, strategic financial plan and overall strategy of the University.
