This is an exciting time to join Lancaster University as a HR Partner. These important roles are both strategic and delivery focused and you will be joining at a key point in the 50 year history of our University.

We are looking for two HR Partners to provide both the strategic and operational HR interface with the Faculties and Departments, which support employees, not just in the UK, but across a number of other countries. It’s not just your job to partner the business, you will also support the implementation of the University’s People Strategy and bring to life the University’s HR vision.

As HR Partner at Lancaster University you will have personal impact, professional credibility and act as a leader and representative of the HR Division. With a strong appreciation for the HE sector, you will bring your knowledge of the best people management practices to advise on the people implications for the University. Your focus will be on building organisational and people capability through presenting evidenced-based business insights, resulting in people solutions that contribute to the University’s success.

Your duties will be wide ranging, but ultimately you will be responsible for:

• Partnering with business leaders (predominantly in the Faculty of Health and Medicine, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Facilities and a number of key Divisions) and HR & OED specialists to understand and develop people solutions to add value to the University

• Supporting leaders and managers in facilitating the delivery of organisational projects and people initiatives, including cyclical HR activity such as Academic Promotions and Probations

• Supporting transformational activity through a strong change management approach ensuring the way that change is delivered, is consistent with University values and cultural principles

• Analysing management information and workforce data to determine areas requiring action and recommending proactive solutions

Everyone in our HR team has a proactive, collaborative and customer focussed approach to work, results driven attitude and the ability to deliver to deadlines. If you join us as a HR Partner we would want you to have:

• Previous experience delivering a proactive HR service in a progressive HR environment

• Previous experience of managing change and transformational projects

• Strong communication and relationship building skills

• Sound understanding of People policies and procedures, best practice and current thinking regarding effective and commercially sound employment practices

• Strong project management skills
