The Department of Economics is an independent part of the Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), which is the most research-intensive business school in the UK (REF 2014). With over 40 members of faculty from more than 15 countries, the Department provides an international, collegial and dynamic research environment with a commitment to world-class academic excellence.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and talented researchers for this 32-months Leverhulme funded Postdoctoral position in structural change in open economy starting in April 2020 (or as soon as possible afterwards). This project aims at explaining the cross-country differences in the changes in the structure of production of industrialized countries by putting emphasis on the role of international trade. You will be working directly with the Leverhulme project principal investigator, Dr. Olivier Cardi (Lancaster University Management School), and the Leverhulme project co-investigator, Dr. Romain Restout (Université de Lorraine, France). You will benefit from interactions with the macro-finance researchers in the Department of Economics and the wider faculty. 

You will have a Ph.D. (or be close to completion) in Economics and a strong background in developing, solving, and simulating multi-sector growth models. A very good knowledge in the structural change literature, strong modelling and numerical computation skills (i.e. Matlab) are essential requirements. Processing datasets and a good knowledge in econometrics are desirable assets.
