The Interim Communications and Marketing Officer will manage and maintain the Lancaster Arts communication strategy and brand visibility to the widest possible audience on campus, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Working with the whole team and external consultants, you will bring your insights, ideas, passion and expertise within the arts to help inform a new and exciting audience strategy for LA for our future. Although a short term role, this Parental leave cover offers an opportunity for you to make your mark with a positive influence to our marketing programme.

Lancaster Arts is a distinctive contemporary arts organisation in the North West of England with a renowned reputation for cutting edge arts practice in all art forms. Our home is at the heart of the beautiful Lancaster University campus and our venues include the Great Hall, Nuffield Theatre and Peter Scott Gallery and we regularly host work off campus in the Lancaster District. We host a wide spectrum of events and participatory opportunities across contemporary theatre, dance, music, visual art, live art, contemporary circus, and comedy, and we work closely with partners locally, regionally and internationally to achieve this.

Lancaster Arts is a friendly small team but we need to better reflect the rich diversity of the north west. We are committed to attracting and recruiting more representative candidates, particularly disabled, D/deaf and/or neurodivergent people and those from black, Asian and ethnically diverse backgrounds and we particularly encourage applications from people in these groups. We will guarantee interview to disabled candidates who meet all essential criteria.

We hope that the successful applicant will be able to start working with us in advance of our Summer season (April/May 2021)
