The Partnerships and Business Engagement team is looking for an exceptional Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager with a passion for working with businesses, the knowledge exchange community and academics to work as part of the NextGenChem team to deliver a European funded project. This is an exciting time to join us in this newly created role and play a key part in supporting Lancaster University to address and drive forward its commitment to supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the wider business community.

The EDI role will look at the opportunity to broaden the pool of talent that Lancashire based companies attract as well as making those organisations more productive and competitive.  You will encourage greater participation with female representatives of SMEs and proactively engage with female business networks such as Women in Business (North West); Women in Business Networks and Enterprising Women.  

You will have demonstrated an ability to influence and take an effective leadership role and drive change, specifically in the area of inclusive practice. You will provide a confidential sounding board to professionals within Lancashire based SMEs around implementing cultural and behaviour change. As part of this you will develop appropriate training and training resources including a toolkit to empower people to lead EDI in SMEs and inform practice in the Partnership and Business Engagement Team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate, proactive and able to bring understanding, knowledge and expertise to the Next Generation Chemistry Hub (NextGenChem) a £4.9m ERDF programme awarded by MHCLG and Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership. NextGenChem is critical to supporting our wider strategy for partnerships and business engagement.

The role will be based at Lancaster University and be embedded within the Partnerships & Business Engagement (PBE) team for Engineering and Physical Sciences. Some further information about team activity can be found on the web site below:

This is a full-time fixed term indefinite post until 31st March 2023 and is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
