Salary:   £31,331 to £36,298
Closing Date:   Sunday 17 November 2013
Interview Date:   Friday 06 December 2013

We have an exciting opportunity to join a national consortium (James Hutton Institute, Rothamsted Research) on a BBSRC research grant for 3 years, studying plant utilisation of soil organic phosphorus.

You will work with Professors Phil Haygarth and Hao Zhang and will be required to conduct analysis of soil and plant components using HPLC and DGT.  Both of these techniques are highly specialized ‘bespoke’ procedures for organic phosphorus that will require a high level of specialist analytical skills, including method development. There will also be some requirement for sample preparation for 31P NMR analysis.   You will also assist Phil Haygarth in managing the national consortium and in delivering some aspects of the pathways to impact, including organization of workshops and establishment of an internet-based ‘Soil Phosphorus Forum’.

This is a fixed term post for 3 years commencing on 1 January 2014 or soon after.

The closing date for this job opportunity has now passed, and applications are no longer being accepted for this position
