The Departments of Organisation, Work and Technology (see https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/lums/our-departments/organisation-work-and-technology/) and Marketing (see https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/lums/our-departments/marketing/) at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) invite applications for an International Lectureship in Management to begin as soon as possible. The departments welcome applications in all areas of management that fit with research/scholarship relevant to the research themes of one or both of the two departments. You will be appointed to whichever department best fits your research, but will be expected to contribute to teaching in both departments.

You will have completed a PhD, will have an emerging publication track record and some experience of undergraduate teaching.

This post arises as a result of international teaching activities, which you will need to help deliver. Lancaster University has established a joint institute with its highly ranked partner Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU). The campus, called Lancaster University College at Beijing Jiaotong University, is located in Weihai in the Shandong province in China. The post involves direct collaboration with our key strategic partner in China and requires you to spend two periods of ten weeks at BJTU every year. 

Key responsibilities will include:
1. Complementing the internationally-leading research output of the Departments
2. Undertaking two visits of 10 weeks duration annually to teach on the undergraduate programme in Business Studies at the Weihai campus. This will involve teaching modules relating to both management and organisation studies and marketing. As such, applicants must be able to contribute to teaching activities in both the Department of Organisation, Work and Technology and the Department of Marketing.
3. Engaging with the administration and day-to-day running of the Department in Lancaster as well as its international activities.

Members of academic staff are entitled to paid accommodation in Weihai, travel allowances and medical insurance in accordance with Lancaster University’s International (short term) Assignment policy.

You will deliver teaching at the Joint Institute in Weihai, China as part of the international strategic partnership between Beijing-Jiaotong University and Lancaster University. Located in the east of Shandong Province, Weihai is surrounded by the Yellow Sea in the north, east and south with a 986 kilometers (613 miles) coastline in total. It neighbours Yantai in the west and is separated from the Korean Peninsula and Japanese chain islands by the sea in the east.
