We are seeking to appoint to 4 part-time Library Aides. Please see below the profiles for the 4 posts:

Post A (annual average 20 hours p.w.)

  • Monday to Friday:  07:30-11:30

Post B (annual average 25 hours p.w.)

  • Monday to Friday: 13:00-18:00

Post C (annual average 13.53 hours p.w.)

  • Term and Easter Vacation: Thursday: 18.00-24.00 & Saturday: 09.30-16:45
  • Summer and Christmas Vacations: Thursday: 18.00-22.00, Friday: 18:00-22:00 & Saturday: 09.30-17.00

Post D (annual average 12 hours p.w.)

  • Wednesday to Friday:  07:30-11:30

You will join a team of Library Aides contributing to the provision of excellent library services to the University.

Duties include responsibility for sorting, re-shelving and tidying of library material, building security, alarms, monitoring the Library exit, providing basic directional assistance to readers, delivering and sorting post.  

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Reliability and previous experience of team working are essential. 

In addition to the fixed hours, you should be willing and able to cover other shifts when needed, both during weekdays and at weekends. 

You must be available for both term and vacation periods and should indicate which of the four posts you wish to be considered for.

These posts are fixed-term for one year in the first instance.
