Do you enjoy working with creative people, do you regard administration as an art form and are you looking for a role in which you can develop? We are looking to appoint a new Creative Administrator, who will coordinate the day to day running of Lancaster Arts. You will take a lead role on increasing the efficiency of our team, overseeing the management of our resources and supporting both strategic and operational matters. You will support the Director and Managing Director, management committee and strategic committee, as well as being the central coordinator for the team. You will also line manage the Front of House Services Coordinator and oversee our volunteer and casual staff recruitment and training.
You will have previous experience of working within a professional arts environment. You will be curious, innovative and ambitious, with strong problem solving skills, a keen interest in the arts and knowledge of running arts operations. You will have exceptional organisational, interpersonal, communication and digital skills. You will be confident in managing and developing data systems and have experience of financial monitoring, Human Resources and coordinating teams. You will also be someone who can grow and develop with us as we explore opportunities together.
Lancaster Arts is a distinctive contemporary combined arts organisation in the North West of England. Our home is at the heart of the beautiful Lancaster University campus and our venues include the Great Hall, Nuffield Theatre and Peter Scott Gallery. We are proud of our artist development programme, which supports and features artists at all stages of their careers. In addition, we host a wide spectrum of events and participatory opportunities across contemporary theatre, dance, music, visual art, live art, circus, spoken word and comedy, and we work closely with partners locally, regionally and internationally to achieve this.
We strongly encourage applications from people with protected characteristics and work hard to ensure diversity runs through the core of our organisation. As a National Portfolio Organisation for Arts Council England, we are champions of the Creative Case for Diversity.
This is a full time, indefinite post.
