Interview Date:   Wednesday 06 February 2019

Lancaster University Students’ Union is looking for a new Communications Assistant to work as part of its busy communications team.

The union is an independent charity dedicated to supporting Lancaster students to have successful learning experiences – supporting students in every aspect of their university life with advice and support services, opportunities to get involved in society groups, sport and volunteering. The union also operates a selection of commercial services which support student life and contribute financially to the provision of union services.

It is an exciting time for the students’ union, which has recently adopted a new overall strategy and is developing its approach to communications in order to be more responsive to the needs of its members.

You will work to ensure effective communication of information, promotions and campaigns through the union’s media channels – prioritising digital communications in line with the communications strategy, and working with colleagues to produce a range of printed materials and support face-to-face communications through a diverse range of events and activities.

The portfolio of skills required for the role includes copywriting, photography, social media content creation, basic design and the relevant skills to contribute to market research, insight and administrative activity on behalf of the Communications team.

As part of the role, you will complete an Apprenticeship qualification in Digital Marketing.

This is a full-time, indefinite post.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
