Part-time Executive Assistant

We are looking to appoint a highly-motivated, efficient and enthusiastic individual to act as Executive Assistant to the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) Director, Deputy Director and Associate Directors. You will provide the Directors with a complete, proactive, high-level and confidential secretarial and administrative service. You will also provide some support to general human resources.
You will be expected to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication, organisational, prioritisation and IT skills. An ability to work effectively as part of a team and using your own initiative, is essential, as are a courteous and professional manner and an ability to anticipate the support needs of others. You must have appropriate experience of working with office systems, finance and procedures. Previous experience of working as a Personal Assistant or in a role with equivalent responsibilities is essential.
You will join a vibrant Centre (also department) engaging in research, teaching, business facing, international and partnership activities and in the capacity of being the Executive Assistant will come into contact with international and cultural diverse people such as staff, students, visitors and partners.
LEC is a large department with about 650 undergraduate students, 80 taught postgraduate students, 160 postgraduate research students, over 80 academic staff, 50 research staff and over 70 professional services staff. LEC’s teaching and research focuses on the natural environment, spanning across social and natural sciences.

This is an indefinite job-share post. The preference is for the post-holder to work the whole day on Monday and Tuesday and half a day (morning) on Wednesday.
