We are looking for a highly motivated and organised research technician who will contribute to the work in Dr Leonie Unterholzner's lab in the Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences at Lancaster University. This is a temporary position for 4 months starting in July 2019 or sooner by arrangement. We would be happy to consider candidates wishing to work part time (at least 0.5 FTE) for a pro rata extended period of time, within the amount of funding available.

You will be responsible for laboratory maintenance tasks to ensure the effective running of the research lab, for instance checking stocks of consumables and tissue culture plastics, placing and receiving orders, and preparing communal buffers and reagents for the group. You will also be able to contribute to active research projects, and carry out experiments in innate immunity and viral immune evasion. Training in laboratory techniques such as human cell culture, propagation of viruses, cloning, immunoblotting, ELISA and real-time PCR will be given, and close supervision will be provided by the postdoctoral researchers in the group.

You will have a relevant BSc degree (or be close to completion), possess good organisational and communication skills, and an interest in immunology and viral immune evasion.
