An opportunity has arisen for two Human Resources Advisors to join our dynamic customer-focused Lancaster University HR Department. The Human Resource Advisors will primarily be responsible for providing generalist first line HR advice, guidance, support and pragmatic interventions to managers and supervisors on all people related issues and keeping the relevant HR Partner updated and informed. You will carry out all duties and activities in a timely manner, and be responsible for proactively referring complex cases to the relevant HR Partner where appropriate. In return we will offer you development support to progress your HR career, as you progress your reward will follow and once qualified you will be eligible to apply for a grade and salary progression. 

As the ideal candidate you will have experience of working in a similar role and be able to demonstrate an understanding of current employment law and HR best practice.  The Human Resources Advisor role can be offered as an Apprenticeship for those candidates who are already CIPD Level 3 qualified HR Professionals (or equivalent) and are looking to work towards a Level 5 (or above) qualification. An apprenticeship with Lancaster University will offer you the opportunity to work in a truly international organisation which is a top 10 UK University, one of the largest employers in the area, whilst gaining practical experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleague and stakeholders of all levels, whilst having the ability to work on your own initiative and be able to plan and organise your own workload. You will be able to demonstrate effective communication skills with a variety of people whilst maintaining professionalism at all times. You will have the drive to deliver operational excellence, get the basics right at the same time as developing in the role and being an engaged member of the team.
