Are you passionate about the environmental sustainability agenda and ready to lead on the transformational changes in response to the Climate and Ecological Emergency? Lancaster University Students’ Union is recruiting to the fixed-term post of Intern (Environmental Sustainability) to support an outstanding candidate with their journey on this critical agenda.

You will join the Students’ Union Environmental Sustainability team supporting the delivery of student-led environmental sustainability projects, campaigns and events on campus. ‘Green Lancaster’ is the collaborative initiative of Lancaster University and Lancaster University Students’ Union aiming to inspire practical solutions to the environmental challenges of the 21st Century. The students’ union facilitates student-led contributions to Green Lancaster.

The Intern (Environmental Sustainability) will be responsible for supporting existing organisational sustainability initiatives but also guiding student-led ideas via a project planning and approval process. 

You will have a passion and interest for the holistic nature of the environmental sustainability agenda. A general understanding of the latest innovations within the agenda areas of energy supply and demand, resources and the circular economy, agriculture and biodiversity and transport/mobility is expected (the ‘Green Lancaster’ priority action areas). You are expected to outline in your supporting statements any existing experience or interaction with projects in these subject areas.

This is a full time, fixed term position for 1 year.
