CREST Admin Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and effective administrative assistant who will provide high quality support to the Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats (CREST).  

You will contribute to all aspects of the Centre’s work, with a focus on providing administrative support to the Centre Director and Centre Manager. This will include communicating with internal and external partners, organising and supporting Centre meetings, assisting with Centre record management and co-ordinating CREST publication approval process.  You will also support with our events programme including BASS20 our large, international conference in July 2020.

CREST is an interdisciplinary research centre at the forefront of the UK’s efforts to understand, mitigate and counter contemporary security threats. Coordinated by Lancaster University, and involving the Universities of Bath and Portsmouth, the Centre enables world-leading academics, policy makers and practitioners to engage with the key issues of our times. Alongside conducting world-class research, the Centre’s activities stimulate public and professional debate, connect disciplinary communities, inform policy and practice, and provide training to research leaders of the future. CREST was commissioned by the ESRC in partnership with the UK security and intelligence 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated administrator to join the Centre’s core team. The activities of the Centre are diverse and you will be encouraged to develop skills and contribute in areas of personal interest.

You should have administrative experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, and an enthusiasm to develop skills and experience in this novel Centre.  

This is a fixed term appointment until September 2020 to cover a period of maternity leave. 

This role is open to internal and external candidates and would be considered as a secondment opportunity subject to the approval of your current line manager.We would consider job share and part time applications.
