The Science and Technology Partnerships and Business Engagement (PBE) Team, which works collaboratively to form successful strategic partnerships between businesses of all sizes, staff and students, is looking for a Marketing Officer to work on a new project. 

The role provides an opportunity to gain a huge variety of experience developing your marketing skills and working in a national award-winning knowledge exchange team. The ideal candidate will have some experience of and/or qualification in marketing, and demonstrate an interest in marketing and learning about how marketing is used in a knowledge exchange community. Managed by the PBE Marketing Manager, working in a highly innovative, collaborative and friendly team, you will help engage and recruit businesses and showcase successful collaborations. You’ll be working with a variety of different types of people, internal and external, to help co-ordinate a workshop programme in Cheshire and Warrington and the University, so will have some experience of planning and co-ordinating events. You’ll be working on a wide range of communications, including social media, and will have experience of writing and developing high quality written content, with close attention to detail and accuracy. 

The role will be part of a new project delivering this unique business growth project for small to medium enterprises in Cheshire and Warrington, focussing on smart materials. The project includes workshops and research and development collaborations. Knowledge of smart materials is not required. There will be some travel to Cheshire and Warrington involved.

The role is part of the Greater Innovation for Smarter Materials Optimisation GISMO is a £4.4m ERDF programme awarded by MHCLG and Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership. GISMO is critical to supporting our wider strategy for partnerships and business engagement.
