Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) is a quadruple-accredited, world-ranked management school, consistently in the top 20 in three major UK league tables. At the heart of the student experience is our innovative LUMS Careers team, who make a significant impact on the career development and employability of our students. 

The LUMS Careers Team provides a service that is central to the student experience, and this busy team are looking to appoint an Employability & Events Coordinator. The overall function of this position it to take the lead on the planning, organisation, delivery, and review of a growing portfolio of extra-curricular and in-curriculum events and employability initiatives, hosted both in-person and online as required, designed to enhance the graduate prospects of both domestic and international students. This includes careers fairs, networking evenings, presentations, panel sessions, skills workshops, student visits to external events, careers workshops, employer interviews and panel activity. 

This is a part time (0.8FTE), fixed-term post, covering a period of secondment until June 2023. Lancaster University staff members, who are looking for a secondment opportunity, are welcome to apply. However please discuss this with your current line manager before applying.

You will support the development of mutually beneficial relationships with employers and alumni, work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders, and ensure that all LUMS Careers events and employability initiatives align with practical requirements and student aspirations. 

Reporting to the LUMS Undergraduate Careers Manager, we are seeking an individual who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team, can manage their time effectively, has strong organisational skills, is a confident networker, and possesses a high level of customer service to maintain and deepen positive relationships both internally and externally.

You will be required to work in strict accordance with GDPR legislation, IT security, confidentiality, and event management guidelines. Training will be provided. 

This role will be a blended role with a mix of working remotely through MS teams and working on campus. Access to office space will be on a rota system in line with government guidance. Occasional out of hours work is expected.
