We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of the University’s EDI+ team as a Project Manager (0.4FTE) progressing the gender equality agenda. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to project manage elements of the Institutional Athena Swan action plan and to support the upcoming Institutional Self-Assessment Team for the University's next Athena Swan submission.

Working closely with University colleagues within Faculties and Professional Services you will manage delivery of several Institutional Athena Swan actions, ensuring to evaluate the impact on gender equality. The University intends to submit for its next institutional Athena Swan award in 2025, and your role will help support our evidence of positive change achieved to date. You will also support the Institutional Self-Assessment Team more widely by undertaking focus groups, data analysis and building reports.

Based within the University’s EDI+ team, you will work closely with the EDI Programme Manager (Athena Swan) and EDI Projects Officer (Athena Swan) in the delivery of the Institutional Athena Swan programme. You will also work closely with the EDI Manager and wider EDI team to ensure projects positively impact all protected characteristics. You will be in regular contact with other teams within People and Organisational Effectiveness and will routinely engage with representatives from Faculties, Academic Departments and Professional Services.

We are looking for someone who has highly effective interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (both oral and written) coupled with an ability to manage projects effectively. Knowledge and experience of barriers to gender equality and good practice in addressing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion are also important in this role.

It’s an exciting time to be joining the EDI+ team, where you will be able to make a positive difference.

This opportunity is offered as a part-time secondment role (until July 2025) at 2 days per week with the opportunity of some hybrid working.
