The Physics Department is an outstanding unit with an international reputation, delivering high quality teaching and cutting edge research.
We require an experienced IT Manager to lead a small team of IT support technicians based in the Physics Department. As manager of this support team you will be responsible for day-to-day IT support in a teaching and research environment. You will need good communication skills, be able to plan your workload and have the ability to work using your own initiative, often to short deadlines. A proven track record of providing IT support in an educational, public service or business environment is essential. You will have extensive experience of installing and updating applications software on multiple platforms, software licensing, system administration & security and account management. Ability to specify appropriate hardware & software solutions for the varying needs of academic, research, technical & admin staff, and PhD students, in a university physics department is also essential.
